Congratulations to graduate student Jessica Newman on winning the 2016 Dissertation Award from the Association for Feminist Anthropology

Graduate student Jessica Newman’s dissertation, “(Re)Making Worthy Women: Abortion, Unplanned Pregnancy, and Activism in Morocco”, has been awarded the 2016 AFA Dissertation Award. According to the AFA, “Jessica’s rich research on strategies of activism and care surrounding abortion and unwed motherhood in Morocco is an important contribution to feminist analyses of gender and reproduction, state power, and transnational activism”.
