Biological Anthropology graduate students host table at the New Haven Science Fair

Alumni Hannah Keller (PhD ‘26), PhD candidates Alyssa Enny and Audrey Tjahjadi and PhD student Emma Tomlinson hosted a table at the 2026 New Haven Science fair. Connecticut Middle School students interacted with human and primate casts, considering the dental adaptations to better contextualize a mystery hominin mandible. Examples of early stone tools and percussed and cut bones were available for microscopic analysis. Students were asked to consider when and how these adaptations evolved, how humans are different (or similar) to other primates, and how scientists make inferences of human behavior in the archaeological record.
