My general interests include: the anthropology and archaeology of mobile pastoralism, mortuary theory, inter-regional interaction and the development of social complexity, and prehistoric craft production and exchange. My doctoral research focuses on the social dimensions of mortuary practices within early nomadic pastoral communities in the Gobi Desert of southeastern Mongolia (Dornogovi province) from the Late Bronze Age (c. 1500 to 1000 BC) through the Early Iron Age (c. 1000 to 400 BC).
