Combined Ph.D. in Anthropology and Environment

The Combined Ph.D. Program in Anthropology and Environment blends the disciplinary and theoretical strengths of the Anthropology Department with the interdisciplinary and theory-and-practice strengths of the School of the Environment. Students in this program frequently work on dissertation projects in environmental/ecological anthropology, social ecology, political ecology, and/or related fields. The Combined Ph.D. Program is open to applicants in any subfield of anthropology (archaeological, biological, or sociocultural/linguistic), and prospective students should refer to those programs as well. Detailed information about program history, requirements, and common trajectories may be found here.
