Daniela Acosta Florez

I received my B.Sc in 2018 from the Universidad del Magdalena, Colombia and have been working with non-human primates since 2014. In Colombia, I worked with silvery brown tamarins in the wild, studying their behavior and ecology. And in 2021 I joined the Ngogo Chimpanzee Project in Kibale National Park in Uganda, where I have been doing fieldwork for the past two years. First, as a research assistant in a project aimed at understanding male-female chimpanzee social relationships and the evolution of pair bonding in humans, and more recently studying social relationships in male chimpanzees and intercommunity competition. I am interested in cooperation and competition in chimpanzees, particularly in understanding the nature of partner selection during cooperative social activities.
