Dominic Bocci

PhD Student

Dominic Bocci is a student in the combined PhD program in Anthropology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, where his research interests focus on the Middle East and gender and sexuality. On top of his academic work, he is the director of grant management in the David Rockefeller Studies Program at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he is also a term member. Previously, he has led various human-rights efforts in the Middle East and was formerly the programs manager at the Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equality and a governance expert for the Cordoba Initiative. Prior to these positions, Dominic worked at the Bureau for Development Policy at UNDP. He is a former Fulbright fellow to the United Arab Emirates, a presidential associate at the American University in Cairo, and a consultant at the Arcus Foundation. Dominic holds a BA (with honors) from UC-Berkeley and an MA from Columbia University. He serves as an advisory committee member for the Council for Global Equality and a fellow at the Atlantic Council.
