In what way can art dialogue with archaeology, and vice versa? Can a museum present conversations that allow us to overcome the division between pre-Hispanic and contemporary art? Questions of this nature have guided a good part of the reflections at the Casa del Alabado Museum, and inspired a contemporary art exhibition and research program that stands in dialogue with one of the most important collections of pre-Hispanic art in Ecuador - more than 5,000 artifacts-, testaments of the extraordinary creative capacity and complexity of the societies that inhabited the equatorial Andes for more than 7,000 years.
