The Anthropology Department is very sad to announce the passing of archaeology PhD student Lingyi Zeng on August 7, 2020 after a courageous battle against disease. Lingyi had been conducting pioneering research on the production, distribution, and consumption of porcelain vessels from the Mongol Empire during the 13th and 14th centuries. This NSF-funded research involved fieldwork in China, Mongolia, and Iran. We will honor the life and scholarship of Lingyi Zeng by preparing a special, edited volume for the Yale University Publications in Anthropology (YUPA) series managed by the Yale Peabody Museum. This volume will include results from Lingyi’s dissertation research and submissions by others about multidisciplinary research on Eurasia.
