Bill Honeychurch receives Polar Star

The government of Mongolia has presented the Order of the Polar Star to Dr. William Honeychurch during a ceremony in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on November 24, 2022. The Order of Polar Star is the country’s highest civilian honor and is in recognition of Professor Honeychurch’s long-standing commitment and dedication to the development of archaeological science in Mongolia. Professor Honeychurch has been working in Mongolia since the 1990s, and his research on the archaeology and anthropology of pastoral nomadism is widely recognized in Mongolia and abroad, and his scholarship has helped to promote the life and culture of the nomadic people around the world.
