The Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador (UTEC), through its Culture Department, presented on January 9th of 2025 issue No. 17 of the museology magazine Kóot, dedicated to disseminating topics related to anthropology, archaeology, and history. The presentation was led by Carlos Flores Manzano, an archaeologist and alumnus of UTEC, currently a PhD candidate at Yale University, alongside Dr. Ramón Rivas, UTEC’s Director of Culture.

This edition highlights the theoretical contributions of both national and international scholars, focusing on the presentations from the recent symposium “500 Years After the Spanish Invasion,” sponsored by Yale University in June 2024. The symposium was organized in collaboration with local institutions, including ICOM El Salvador, the Academia Salvadoreña de la Historia, UTEC, and Museo MARTE. This event brought together Indigenous leaders from El Salvador along with professionals in archaeology, anthropology, history, and ethnohistory.

Through its Department of Anthropology, Yale University continues to foster international dialogue and research, reinforcing its commitment to global academic exchange.
