Jamie Chan, class of 2023, published her undergraduate thesis, titled “Why Rebuild on Toxic, Sinking Ground?: The Challenges for Disaster Recovery in Southeast Louisiana” in the Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography. Her research examines the structural disinvestment into the Louisiana coastal communities, and their survivance within these precarious environments.
Jaxon Havens, class of 2026, published “Dress Like a Man: Plainly Masculine Dress and Men Who Consume” in the Yale Undergraduate Research Journal in Fall 2024. His paper seeks to investigate perceptions of men’s presentation as unadornedly “masculine” through a lens of sociocultural anthropology concerned with the materialization and mattering of bodies in space.
