PhD candidate Samantha Miller receives the 2025 Outstanding Trainee Presentation in Anthropological Genetics award

Samantha Miller, a PhD candidate in the Tucci lab, received the American Association of Anthropological Genetics Outstanding Trainee Podium Presentation award at the 2025 American Association of Biological Anthropologists meeting. Miller’s presentation, titled “The contribution of archaic introgression to local adaptation in Oceania,” detailed her research onNeanderthal and Denisovan ancestry in Samoans. This award, which includes a cash prize and subscription to the journal Human Biology, recognizes the best anthropological genetics podium presentation given by a graduate student at the annual American Association of Biological Anthropologists and Human Biology Association meetings.
