Darkhijav Batbayar is a doctoral student in the Anthropology program at Yale University. She received her MA (2023) and BA (2021) in Anthropology from the National University of Mongolia.
Her master’s thesis, “Bioarchaeological Study of Skeletal Remains of Children from Mongolian Nomads,” examined growth, development, and paleopathology among children from the Bronze Age to the Mongol period. Her bachelor’s thesis “Osteological Study of Skeletal Remains of Children from Xiongnu Period, Mongolia” focused on the analysis of subadult skeletal remains.
Her research interests include bioarchaeology, anthropological archaeology, paleopathology, paleo diet and paleogenomics.
